Accessibility statement
Last updated 8 November 2026.
We want everyone to be able to use UK Plate Check. This statement covers ukplatecheck.com and the installed mobile version.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with landmarks, a logical heading order and a skip link.
- Every form field has a visible label, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- Status is given in words as well as colour, for example "Taxed" and "Valid".
- Visible keyboard focus on every control, and no keyboard traps.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout adapts to small screens.
- No moving content, no time limits and no autoplaying media.
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA. We test with keyboard-only use, VoiceOver on iPhone and browser accessibility tools. We are not aware of content that fails level AA. If you find a problem, tell us at hello@ukplatecheck.com and we will fix it or offer the information another way.
Enforcement
This is a private service, so the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations do not apply to it. The Equality Act 2010 does, and we take our duty to make reasonable adjustments seriously. If you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
